15 SEPTEMBER 2018
Brands Hatch is one the world's most iconic motor racing circuits, having hosted 12 British Grand Prix between 1964 and 1986. It was also the venue for a number of the cycling races for the London 2012 Paralympic Games. The 3.9km Grand Prix circuit provides a great challenge of arduous climbs, banking corners and exhilarating descents.
In 3.9km a rider will have an elevation gain of 65m and endure a maximum gradient of 9% as well as hit maximum speeds coming off the iconic Druids hairpin bend as the track curves into the downhill off-camber Graham Hill Bend!
The most significant upward elevation changes on the circuit occur at Pilgrim's Drop and Hawthorn Hill, which leads into Hawthorn Bend as the circuit heads into the woodland Grand Prix circuit.
The venue has great facilities, excellent paddock and pit garage facilities, ample car parking, camping and shower facilities.
Join the e-bike revolution and get involved in the UK's first dedicated e-MTB Challenge event!
A Two Stage Challenge on a demanding multi-surface (mainly off-road) circuit covering approximately 5km witin the confines of the iconic Brands Hatch venue.
A team relay event open to soloists, duos and teams of four - Male, Female and Mixed categories.
Held over two stages this will be a true challenge of man and machine, strategy and stamina (both human and battery) so the perfect chance to find out what you and your e-MTB can do!
This is for street-legal e-MTBs only (see definition below).
Qualifying lap to determine team start position - all team members to complete a lap. Your team's average lap time will dictate your start position for the Challenge.
6 Hour Challenge. For soloists it's a matter of pacing yourself and your machine. For duos and teams of four it's a relay (one rider on the track at a time) so race strategies, transitions and battery management will become important.
Bikes may be charged in between Qualifying Laps and the Endurance Challenge only - no charging is permitted during the event.
