Meet Sabine – our very first female entry to Revolve24. Yes, another 24hr soloist!
Sabine has a strong endurance pedigree and some great experiences to share with other Revolve24 participants. Let’s hear from her:
"I have done a few 24 hour races as a solo rider in the past, three Delirium in Western Australia on a road bike and a WEMBO in New Zealand on a mountain bike, as well as the odd 12 hour mountain bike race (Dusk Till Dawn in WA).”
Given this experience, Sabine has some ‘top-tips’ to share:
“Every race came with its own challenges, from which I learnt every year. After I was warmly welcomed to the Veris Women’s Racing team in Perth, I stepped up my training and worked on some race craft. As a result, I was able to ride just over 729 km in my last 24 hour road race. I was incredibly happy with that.”
Despite chalking up such a good distance over 24 hour’s she is still going for more.
“New challenges and goals are already on my mind and there are always things that need improving. I'm hoping that I will have honed my endurance skills by 2018 to race well and meet my goals on this rather technical 24 hour road race course! “
And finally, Sabine talks about the wonderful spirit that you can expect at The Bend next January.
“It's very special at times. These endurance races have always been special because of the unique atmosphere they provide. There is often a great deal of camaraderie among the riders and support crews, as well as a lot of cheering and chin-wagging between spectators and their families. “I look forward to the next 5 months of training and to see everyone on race day!"
And all the Revolve24 team look forward to it too!Back to R24 CC
